Objectif tourisme, the project that links businesses and asylum seekers
Project presentation
This 3-year (2023-2026) research and innovation pilot project, funded by the Ministère de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale, offers services and professional support for asylum seekers in Quebec. The aim of this project is to promote the integration and job retention of 1,000 participants per year in the tourism sector in the province of Quebec.
I feel well integrated thanks to the project. I'm surrounded by good people who understand why I'm here.
I feel almost at home.
The tourism sector pushes me to make extraordinary discoveries.
Integrating the project is like a corridor for rapidly integrating asylum seekers, financially, culturally, materially, etc.
My questions and concerns were always answered, and I felt considered and supported by the entire pilot project team and by the company that trusted me and employed me.
I'm discovering a new way of working here. I've learned to coordinate and prioritize my tasks so that the whole restaurant chain runs smoothly.
The project is a real plus for integration in Quebec.
It's a great professional opportunity, which makes me want to pursue a career in tourism.
I'm very happy with this great experience I'm having in Matane thanks to this CQRHT project.
